Code Enforcement

How We Implement Ordinances in The Silver State

Code Enforcement supports and enhances quality of life, while working to keep aging buildings, homes and properties safe and sustainable. City codes and ordinances are created to protect the health, safety and quality of life for current and future residents.

The City of Nevada makes sure city codes and ordinances are met so we continue to be a desirable community. The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for addressing nuisance and property standard violations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the community. Some of these violations may include:

  • High weeds and grass
  • Trash and debris or illegal outside storage
  • Illegal dumping
  • Home occupations
  • Junked or inoperable vehicles
  • Dilapidated fences
  • Damaged siding and peeling paint
  • Illegal zoning uses or prohibited uses
  • Dangerous structures

The main goal of this enforcement is to promote neighborhood sustainability and to positively impact property values.
